Au cours d’une promenade à travers Odessa, le spectateur découvre les lieux les plus marquants de cette cité balnéaire située au bord de la mer Noire. L’homme à la caméra parcourt les rues de la ville et interroge ses habitants sur « Odessa Mama », un personnage central du folklore odessite. Il va ainsi nous faire découvrir la personnalité de cette femme mythique qui est profondément ancrée dans l’histoire de cette grande ville du sud de l’Ukraine. Dans le même temps, on découvre les principales curiosités de la culture odessite et l’identité très particulière de ses habitants.

During a walk through Odessa, the audience discovers the most striking places of this seaside city on the Black Sea. The “man with the camera” walks through the streets and asks its inhabitants about Odessa Mama, a central character in Odessa’s folklore. He will thus make us discover the personality of this mythical woman who is deeply rooted in the history of the capital of southern Ukraine. At the same time, we discover the main curiosities of the Odessan culture and the very particular identity of its inhabitants.

Passeggiando per le strade di Odessa, lo spettatore scopre i luoghi più notevoli di questa città balneare sulle rive del mar Nero. L’ « uomo con la macchina da presa » percorre le strade della città e interroga i suoi abitanti su « Odessa Mama », un personaggio centrale del folklore locale. Il film svela quindi la personalità di questa donna mitica, profondamente radicata nella storia della grande città del sud dell’Ucraina. Allo stesso tempo, si scoprono le principali curiosità della cultura di Odessa e l’identità molto particolare dei suoi abitanti.
